Turmeric Tofu Scramble

This vegan Turmeric Tofu Scramble is the perfect high-protein addition to a good old vegan fry-up, breakfast burrito, or even just your morning toast. Once you've perfected this dish, you'll never crave scrambled eggs again!
Make it spicier: add 1/2 tsp chilli powder.
Make it sweeter: add 1/2 tsp of maple syrup.

  • 1 pack tofu (we use Tofoo)
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp olive or rapeseed oil
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste


  • Heat 1/2 tablespoon of the oil in a hot frying pan and crumble your tofu into the pan with your hands, so it resembles scrambled eggs.
  • Add the turmeric, paprika, and a pinch (or a few pinches) of salt and pepper, according to your taste.
  • Drizzle over the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of oil, and cook until the tofu starts to brown.
  • Add the lime juice and give it a good stir.
  • Take the tofu off the heat and serve immediately.


Serving suggestion: enjoy as part of a vegan fry-up or breakfast burrito.
Leftovers: the scrambled tofu leftovers will keep for 2-3 days in the fridge, but this is a dish that's best enjoyed hot and fresh.
